T-Shirt yarn bowl

Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 10.27.09 amIn addition to making crafty things for myself and my family and friends I also teach crochet at a weekly class and during March we made small bowls from T-Shirt yarn. These bowls are quick and simple to make and can be easily customised which is why I love making them.

If you’re wanting to make one of your own the instructions are below using UK crochet terms or if you are a South Australian local like me and would like to take a crochet class please check out Classie.

R6-7: ch 3, *tr in next st, repeat from * to end. (40)

Tie off and weave in ends.

As I mentioned this bowl can be easily customised. You can do this with colour changes or changes to the shape and size of the bowl as I did with my basket below.

To give the bowl a more rounded look work in both loops rather then back loops only on round 5.

To increase the diameter of the base of the bowl simply continue to increase until the desired size is reached before beginning the sides of the bowl on round 5.

You can increase the height of the bowl by continuing further rounds after round 7.

If you have any questions or ideas for the bowls let me know in the comments section below.
